The Joy Formidable – Wolf’s Law

It has been eighteen months since The Joy Formidable last graced our ears with new material, that was until last night when Hew Stephens premiered the Welsh three pieces new track Wolf’s Law.

Following on from their critically acclaimed debut album The Big Roar, The Joy Formidable have offered a subtler sound yet still with all the dramatic tension and emotional inclines one would come to expect.

Staring with a pattering piano intro while Ritzy Bryan’s vocals husk over the top, the pace soon speeds into an almighty build up. Heart warming and emotionally zapping at the same time, Wolf’s Law is four minute piece questioning how we see the beauty of the world. While the track will not be on the bands second album it does give an enthralling insight into the direction The Joy Formidable are heading.

The accompanying video is a black and white masterpiece of all that makes the world continue turning, beautiful and inspiring it is a work of art in itself. Showing only the slightest glimmer of band themselves, instead it focuses on nature and all of its processes.

A taster of The Joy Formidable’s second album of the same name Wolf’s Law is expected to be released in January 2013.
