Alex Turvey, described by VOGUE as one of the fifteen ‘Creatives who will define the future of British Arts’, has collaborated with TOPMAN to create a ‘visually captivating piece of film’ for an exclusive national cinema campaign that will run for three weeks in the lead up to the launch of DISTIL, the very first ‘fine’ fragrance by TOPMAN.
The fragrance infuses three ‘Accords’, each individually capturing the energy, coolness and passion within a man; the Top Accord bursts with scents of juniper, petitgrain, blood orange and ginger stem which add energy to the cool Heart Accord which is a composition of both sea and modern ozone wood molecules. Finally the passionate Base Accord encapsulates the finest whitewoods, olibanum, cashmeran and earthy musks.
The fragrance is matched by its equally striking packaging. When opened the bottle reveals two equal cubes. At the bottom sits the black rubber lid that is contrasted by the clear glass cube of fragrance that sits above it, the atomizer facing downwards, causing the bottle to effectively be upside down.
It is this unique packaging design that inspired Turvey’s direction of the film. Turvey’s concept ‘grew out of the clean geometry of the bottle design and the DISTIL name itself ‘ and intends to communicate ‘a moment of clarity and a point of refinement where you’ve reached a deeper understanding about your own style identity… magnified by the DISTIL fragrance’. DISTIL will be released in twenty national TOPMAN stores nationwide and TOPMAN.COM from the 5th of November.
