An exhibition of emerging Korean fashion designers opens tomorrow evening at the Korean Cultural Centre UK, next to Trafalgar Square in central London. The works are characterized by humor, hypothetic worlds and highly sculptural creations combining explosions of colour, modern techniques and unexpected fabric combinations. Here’s a preview of the designers to be showcased, including CSM graduate MINKY JAEMIN HA (above image) who’s red dress creates a very unique silhouette for the body.
MINJU KIM‘s collection ‘Love Power’ explored the theme of Korean girls and their cute and scary transformations into love robots.
Menswear designer KATLEEN KYE‘s design ethos is to represent fun-loving & witty unisex shapes.
Jewelry designer YOOLHEE KO uses both natural and modern materials and techniques for her sculptural work.
Knitwear designer JUHEE HAN also incorporates other handicrafts such as crochet and macramé into her collections.
Womenswear designer ARA JO incorporates her obsession for mysterious creatures as muses for her collection.
LCF graduate YEASHIN KIM, selected as one of the best graduates of 2011 by Vogue UK, incorporates a lot of wool embroidery and crafted details into her colourful collections.
